Most christenings in Barcelona happen on a Saturday or Sunday around midday or late afternoon, and the celebration is a stand-up cocktail or a seated meal for 20–40 people, half of them family who have travelled. The three formats that work: a restaurant with a private area near the church (menus with a welcome cocktail from €45 per guest, a kids’ menu, no minimum spend at the good ones); a private terrace in the Eixample with cocktail catering (two hours of canapés with drinks, no venue hire at some terraces); or a caterer at home or in a family garden with a waiter, a dessert table and a corner for the babies. These are the options we quote most often, with 2026 prices. The choice depends on the parish, the number of guests and how many babies and grandparents there are: for 20–40, a restaurant with a private area in the same neighbourhood; for something more relaxed, a terrace with cocktail catering; for 40–80 and family from abroad, a masía with rooms.
Menus with a welcome cocktail and drinks from €45 per guest, a kids’ menu, a private room or reserved area for 20–60, no minimum spend at the good ones; 30 % deposit, free cancellation 72 hours ahead.
Terraces for up to 40 with no venue hire and a two-hour cocktail menu with wine, cava, beer and soft drinks; extra bar from €12 per person per hour; homemade cakes €35–55.

We take care of what is hard to do from abroad: finding a restaurant or terrace within walking distance of the church, agreeing the menu and the catering in writing, booking hotels near the parish and organising a dinner the night before or a brunch the day after so the family gets more than one afternoon together.
