One tip that saves more proposals than any other: choose the spot for the light at your hour, not for the postcard.

Templo de Debod at sunset

The most photographed proposal spot in Madrid: golden light over Casa de Campo. It gets busy, so we arrive forty minutes before sunset and use the quieter side terrace; the photographer waits by the pond.

Retiro Park: Palacio de Cristal, Parterre and the rose garden

Quiet corners in the morning, engagement photos among the trees afterwards. The Parterre garden and the wooden bridges by the lake are the most private places to propose in the Retiro.

Sabatini Gardens and Campo del Moro

What a Madrid elopement includes: the spot and the permits where needed, a symbolic ceremony with an officiant in English, the bouquet and boutonnière, a photographer for two to three hours (engagement-style photos around the city afterwards), a table for two in a private dining room, and hair and make-up or a musician if you want them.
