Built-in storage that the flat asks for

Bespoke joinery, not furniture pretending to fit.

Off-the-shelf wardrobes from the catalogue stop at standard widths and depths — and Eixample classics rarely have those. The alcove between the chimney and the load-bearing wall is 247 cm wide, the ceiling slopes from 290 to 310 cm, the door frame is offset by 8 cm. Custom joinery sized to the millimetre, built once, never replaced.

Architect-led design (Núria, COAC member)

Brief workshop with the household, drawings to the project plan, materials selected at the showroom over one or two sessions. Núria signs off the cabinet drawings before the workshop starts cutting. You meet her on the first call.

Joinery built in our workshop

Carcasses from FSC-certified 18 mm ply, doors in oak veneer, walnut, lacquered MDF or solid oak. Premium European hinges and runners (Blum, Hettich). Brass, leather or hidden handles. Made-to-fit for alcoves, sloped ceilings and odd corners.

Storage logic, not just shelves

For each piece we map what goes in: hanging space split by length (jackets vs dresses), shoe drawers sized to actual heel heights, deep file drawers for the top quarter, open shelves for the visible items. The interior layout is designed before the door style.

Installed in days, not weeks

Pieces arrive flat-pack, installed by our two-person team in 1–3 days. Walls scribed if the corner is out of square, doors aligned at 1 mm gaps. Snag walk on day one of use, 30-day post-install adjustments included.

The right starting point for one-room joinery on a firm budget. Carcass built to fit the alcove, lacquered MDF doors in white, grey or accent colour, soft-close hinges, basic interior layout (hanging rod, drawers, shoe shelves). Right for buy-to-let, mid-tier flats and family bedrooms.

How we work · 4 stages

Workshop, design, build, install.

Workshop + visit

Half a day at our showroom or on site. Brief questions: what goes inside, who uses it, where it sits in the day. Same-day verbal direction, written quote with cabinet drawings within 7 working days.

Design + sign-off

Cabinet drawings, material samples chosen at showroom, hardware agreed. Sign-off in writing before workshop starts. Anything that changes after this triggers a change-order line.

Build

Carcasses cut and edge-banded in our workshop, doors veneered or lacquered, hardware fitted. Standard build: 3–5 weeks of workshop time after sign-off.

Install + snag

Two-person install team on site for 1–3 days. Walls scribed if the corner is out of square, doors aligned at 1 mm gaps, interior hardware fitted. Snag walk on day one of use, 30-day post-install adjustments included.

Common custom-furniture questions

What clients ask on the first call.

Pax stops at standard widths (50, 75, 100 cm) and depths (35, 58 cm). It works against straight walls in modern flats. Custom earns its money when the alcove is 247 cm and you do not want a 47 cm gap, when the ceiling slopes, when the corner is out of square, or when you need the wardrobe to be 32 cm deep because the corridor is narrow. Eixample classics with their geometry quirks are where custom pays back fastest.
Standard tier: 5–7 weeks from sign-off (2 weeks design + 3 weeks workshop + 1 week install). Premium with oak veneer: 6–8 weeks. Designer with walk-in or library wall: 9–12 weeks. The clock starts at design sign-off, not the first call.
Carcass: FSC-certified 18 mm birch ply (Standard and Premium) or solid timber on Designer. Doors: lacquered MDF (Standard), oak veneer or solid oak (Premium), solid walnut or designer veneers (Designer). All edges PVC-banded or hand-finished. Hinges and drawer runners from Blum or Hettich on Premium and Designer.
5 years on carcass construction (joints, alignment, finish). 2 years on hardware (hinges, runners, handles). 30-day post-install touch-up window for any adjustments. Spanish LOE 3-year cover applies on installation works. Veneer chipping or door warping replaced free during the warranty.
Yes — we coordinate with the renovation contractor. Cabinet drawings include MEP and partition setup-out so the wall can be built (or plastered) to receive the joinery cleanly. We measure on site after partitions are up, build during plastering and screed cure, install after walls are finished. Adds about 1 week to the calendar to coordinate with the build sequence.
