A custom kitchen is the bones of how a flat lives

Layout first, finishes second.

Most kitchens fail not because the doors look wrong but because the routing fails — coffee in the morning takes seven steps when it should take two, the dishwasher empties into a drawer no one opens, the rubbish bin sits where the dog walks. Núria runs a flow workshop before any cabinet drawing starts. Then we build to the millimetre.

Architect-led design (Núria, COAC member)

Flow workshop with the household, layout drawn to the project plan, materials selected at the showroom over two sessions. Núria signs off the cabinet drawings before the workshop starts cutting. You meet her on the first call.

Cabinetry built in our workshop

Cabinet boxes from FSC-certified ply, doors in oak, walnut, lacquered MDF or veneer. Premium European hinges (Blum, Hettich). Soft-close on every door and drawer. Made-to-measure for the alcoves and ceiling heights of Eixample classic flats.

Worktops and integrated appliances

Quartz, full-stave oak, marble or microcement worktops to match the brief. Integrated appliances from Bosch, Siemens, Miele or local Spanish brands — your choice. We coordinate gas and electrical with the renovation contractor (or run the install ourselves).

Installed and snagged on the calendar

Cabinets arrive disassembled, installed by our two-person team in 3–5 days. Worktop templated after cabinet install, fitted a week later. Snag walk on day one of use — adjustments included for 30 days post-handover.

Standard · catalogue cabinetry, custom layout

The right starting point when the budget is firm but the layout needs to be custom. Off-the-shelf cabinet boxes adjusted to your alcoves, lacquered MDF doors in white or grey, quartz or laminate worktop. Free-standing or partially integrated appliances. Right for buy-to-let, mid-tier flat reforms, family kitchens with off-the-shelf finish.

How we work · 4 stages

Workshop, design, build, install.

Workshop + visit

Half a day at our showroom or on site. Flow questions: how do you cook, how many at table, who empties the dishwasher. Same-day verbal direction, written quote with cabinet drawings within 7 working days.

Design + sign-off

Cabinet drawings, material samples chosen at showroom across two sessions, appliance list agreed. Sign-off in writing before workshop starts. Anything that changes after this triggers a change-order line.

Build

Cabinet boxes built in our workshop, doors finished or veneered, hardware fitted. Worktop ordered after install template — fabricated to ±1 mm. Standard kitchen build: 4–6 weeks of workshop time after sign-off.

Install + snag

Two-person install team on site for 3–5 days. Worktop fitted a week after cabinets (template, fabricate, install). Snag walk on day one of use, adjustments scheduled, 30-day post-install touch-up included.

Common custom-kitchen questions

What clients ask on the first call.

When the kitchen has standard dimensions and runs against straight walls, catalogue (IKEA, Schmidt) is honest value. Custom earns its keep when the flat has alcoves, sloped ceilings, columns, mosaic floor patterns to align to, or you want the kitchen to feel like joinery rather than furniture. Eixample classics with their odd geometries are where custom starts paying back.
Standard tier: 6–8 weeks from sign-off (3 weeks design + 4 weeks workshop + 1 week install). Premium with bespoke cabinetry: 7–10 weeks. Designer with marble island: 10–14 weeks (worktop fabrication adds 2–3 weeks). The clock starts at design sign-off, not the first call.
Standard: laminate or 20 mm quartz (Silestone, Caesarstone, Compac). Premium: 30 mm quartz, full-stave oak (oiled or finished), or sintered stone (Dekton, Neolith). Designer: marble (Calacatta, Carrara, Travertine), sintered stone with book-matched veining, microcement. Marble pricing is per slab — we send three options after the workshop.
5 years on cabinetry construction (boxes, doors, alignment). 2 years on hardware (hinges, drawer runners, handles). 2 years on worktop installation. Manufacturer warranty pass-through on appliances (typically 2–5 years). 30-day post-install touch-up window for any adjustments. Spanish LOE 3-year cover applies on installation works.
Yes. About 40 % of custom kitchens go in alongside a renovation we are not running. We coordinate with the foreman during cabinet install — gas, electrical, water and ventilation already in place. The cabinet drawings include MEP requirements so the contractor can rough in correctly. Cabinet install starts when plaster and screed are cured.
