A drain stack is not a one-day swap
CCTV first. Then the cut.
Half the "blockages" we get called on are not blockages. They are slope failures, sagged sections of cast-iron pipe, or stacks rusted through behind an old chase. CCTV finds the actual cause in 20 minutes. Then we plan the cut — what to replace, what survives another decade, where the join goes — and present a fixed price before opening the wall.

Pre-war stack experience
1880–1920 Eixample stacks are cast-iron, sometimes ungrouted into the pati de llums. We have the kit and the comunidad relationships to replace through the existing route in HDPE without breaking the building.

Slope calc, not eyeball
1.5–2% fall on horizontal waste, 5° minimum at branch joints. We measure with a digital level and document the run. That is why our installs do not block six months later.

Shared stacks need comunidad sign-off. We draft the notice, attend the junta if needed, coordinate with neighbours. You don't lose six weeks because the riser belongs to the building, not the flat.

Drain run with bucket and dye, hydro-test on supply joins, CCTV after reinstatement to confirm slope holds. Logs and footage in the handover pack.

1.5–2% fall on horizontal waste lines (1.5 cm per metre). 110 mm WC pipe needs at least 5 m of run before joining the stack. We measure available slope at the survey — if there is not enough fall, we redesign or recommend a sanitary pump.
