What to expect

What a sunset cruise with us is like

You board an hour and a half before sunset at Port Olímpic, Port Vell or Marina Vela, depending on the boat. The skipper motors out of the port and, as soon as there is wind, hoists the sails: the sailing is silent, with the Barceloneta, the Sagrada Família and Torre Glòries sliding past to port. Forty minutes in, the sailboat anchors off the beach or keeps sailing slowly south, and the cava and nibbles come out. The sun drops behind Montjuïc, the sky goes from orange to violet and the city switches its lights on as you head back to port. It's two hours; you can extend to three for dinner on board. We work with five operators in Barcelona and Sitges and pick the boat by headcount and mood: an 11-seat sailboat, the 52-ft luxury sailboat or a 12-seat catamaran with captain and hostess. Prices on this page are their 2026 rates, VAT included; we add dinner, flowers, a photographer or live music if the sunset is for a special occasion.

What time the sun sets in Barcelona and where you leave from

Departure time: an hour and a half before sundown, so the sun sets with you already anchored off the beach. In Barcelona the sun sets around 5:30 pm in December and January, 6:30 pm in February, 7:00 pm in March (8:00 pm after the clocks change), 8:30 pm in April, 9:00 pm in May, 9:25 pm in June and July, 8:50 pm in August, 8:00 pm in September, 7:10 pm in October (6:10 pm at the end of the month) and 5:35 pm in November. We send you the exact time for your date with the price.

Departure ports: the 11-seat sailboat and the 26- and 126-seat catamarans leave from Port Olímpic (Moll de Mestral, next to the beaches); the luxury sailboat from Marina Vela, next to the W Hotel; the Bali catamarans from Port Vell (Moll de la Barceloneta 1, ten minutes from the Born). In Sitges, from Port d'Aiguadolç. Route: north along the Barceloneta, Nova Icària and the Fòrum, or south towards Montjuïc and the Garraf, where the sun sets; the skipper decides by the wind. What to bring: a light jacket even in summer, flat shoes and a charged camera.

Why a private sailboat and not a shared trip

Shared sunset trips cost €40–60 per person and put 10 strangers on the same boat with a fixed schedule. A private 11-seat sailboat costs €399 per boat: for two it is dearer, for six it costs the same as the shared trip and for ten it is cheaper — with the whole boat to yourselves, your music and the freedom to anchor where you like. As an agency we compare five operators and know which boat has the best deck for the sunset, which lets you bring dinner or a bouquet and which leaves from the port closest to your hotel. The boat costs the same as booking direct; the operator pays our commission. We work in English, Spanish and Russian.

Frequently asked questions

Per private boat: an 11-seat sailboat from €399 (2 hours, Monday to Thursday; €549 Friday to Sunday), a 52-ft luxury sailboat from €600, a 12-seat catamaran from €760. For two on the classic sailboat, €200 each; with the boat full, from €36 per person. 2026 rates, VAT included.

An hour and a half before sunset: around 7:45 pm in June and July, 6:30 pm in September, 4:00 pm in December. We send the exact time for your date with the price.

Two hours is standard: departure, sailing, sunset at anchor off the beach and the ride back with the city lights. With three hours there is time for dinner on board.

Port Olímpic (11-seat sailboat and big catamarans), Marina Vela next to the W Hotel (luxury sailboat) or Port Vell, Moll de la Barceloneta (Bali catamarans). All 10–15 minutes by taxi from the centre; we send the exact pontoon.

Yes. On the luxury sailboat, a three-course dinner for €75 per person or tapas for €35; on the Port Vell catamarans, a private chef, paella or sushi. Book three hours.

It is the format we organise most: bouquet and cava hidden below deck, a photographer dressed as crew and the question in the golden light. We prepare it all in secret.

If the skipper decides it is unsafe, the operator moves the date or refunds. With moderate wind you sail anyway — that is when a sailboat is at its best; if you worry about seasickness, we choose the catamaran, which barely moves.

Always private: the whole boat for you, even if there are two of you. We do not sell single seats.

In June, July and August and on weekends in May, September and October, 1–3 weeks. On weekdays and in winter boats are usually available with two or three days’ notice.
