How much does it cost to rent a boat in Barcelona?

Boat rental in Barcelona with a skipper costs, at real 2026 rates: an 11-seat sailboat €399 for 2 hours Monday to Thursday and €549 at weekends (€36–50 a head); a 52-ft luxury yacht €600 for 2 hours and €1,200 for a full day of six; a 12-seat catamaran from €760; a 26-seat catamaran €810 on weekdays and €1,215 at weekends (€31–47 a head); and a party boat for 50–126 guests between €2,150 and €5,370 depending on hours and headcount, which is €40–55 a head with a full boat. Every boat rental includes the skipper, fuel, insurance, VAT, music and a swim off the city beaches; drinks are included on the sailboats and small catamarans and served at the bar on the party boat. From November to March most Barcelona charter companies give a 10 % discount. We rent boats in Barcelona for parties, birthdays, hen and stag dos, marriage proposals, corporate events, sunset sailing and groups flying into Spain, and in each case we propose the boat that fits your group, not the one that happens to be free.

Weekend rates (Friday to Sunday) and July and August are the highest; weekdays and November to March the lowest. Tell us how many you are and we tell you which boat works out best a head.

Where to rent a boat in Barcelona and when

The boats leave from three marinas in Barcelona, all on the metro: Port Olímpic (the sailboats and the 26- and 126-seat catamarans, ten minutes from the Barceloneta), Marina Vela (the luxury sailboat, next to the W Hotel) and Port Vell (the Bali catamarans, opposite the Columbus monument). The usual route is the same for all of them: out past the breakwater, along the skyline to the Fòrum or until Tibidabo comes into view, a swim off the beaches and back with the sunset if it is the last departure. For guests staying in the Garraf, we also have boats in Sitges, from Port d’Aiguadolç, and for groups flying into Spain every marina is under 20 minutes from Barcelona airport by taxi.

The best season to go sailing in Barcelona runs from May to October; July and August are high season, and June and September weekends sell out 3–4 weeks ahead. From November to March the Mediterranean is usually calm, most days are sunny and the charter companies give a 10 % discount: the best value for proposals, anniversaries and corporate events. In genuinely bad weather (strong wind or rain) the skipper moves the date at no cost. If you want a boat in Barcelona just to enjoy the coast, without a celebration, we do that too: a private 2-hour sailing trip along the city with a swim included, and motorboat options on request.

We always rent with a skipper: for a celebration it is easier and you need no boating licence or personal deposit. Boat rental without a skipper in Barcelona is limited to small motorboats, with or without a licence depending on engine size, and they are not party boats.

From 2 to 126. Up to 11, the sailboats and the yacht; 12, the Bali catamaran; up to 26, the Catvents catamaran; 50 to 126, the two-deck party boat. For more than 126 we combine several boats that sail together.
